Eventually I could resolve the issue by replacing system git by newly
version installed manually
ln -s /usr/local/git-2.10.0/bin/git /usr/bin/git
Although it was always set it in the gitlab/config/gitlab as
bin_path: /usr/local/git-2.10.0/bin/git
