I like to use GitLab to edit markdown files in my "notes" repository.

Whenever I edit a file, GitLab puts a default message in the "Commit
message" box. For example, if I edit the file "todo.md", the default commit
message is "Update todo.md". However, the default message is greyed out,
and I have to type something in myself in order to be able to commit
changes.

Is there any way to allow GitLab to use the default commit message?
