What's the proper procedure to upgrade a source CE install from 7.11.4 to 8.1.4?
I tried following the deprecated procedure at https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/blob/master/doc/update/upgrader.md but that doesn't seem to have worked very well. I have the impression that the procedure at https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/blob/master/doc/update/patch_versions.md is only for patch version upgrades like 7.x to 7.y but not major version upgrades 7.x to 8.x. Maybe that impression is wrong and this is the correct upgrade path but can anyone confirm one way or the other?
