Yet more context. The 'go get' mechanism does have difficulty pulling a specific version from a 3rd party repo. I don't run into this because i host specific versions of dependencies in my own git space, but it does, perhaps, reduce the priority for 'go get' support. http://0x74696d.com/posts/go-get-considered-harmful/
