Gamergate is about exposing corruption in gaming press. This press is responding by launching a smear campaign, using "anti-feminism" as a powertool, even though feminism has nothing to do with the campaign. Gamergate even has several prominent feminists vouching for them (using the #notyourshield tag, together with other minorities), and those minorities got attacked/threatened by anti-GG people.
It's rather simple really: Ask for sources. You will find that the anti-GG people will shout "They're women-hating pigs and harass feminists" without any source/proof to back it up. The pro-GG posters have no trouble linking proof of the harassmnet they've received. We are not the bad guys. We are fighting against established newssites that have no problem with launching fake accusations to drown out the real issue.
