Hi! (Sorry if this was already discussed, I am a novice to GitLab.)
One important aspect of GitHub is easy discovery of related forks/clones of repositories and in general global discovery of git repositories. But sadly it is a centralized service. So I was thinking that GitLab could provide a way to have a directory/index of all various instances (which would want to publish this information) and forks/clones in there. Maybe a simple DHT would already work. Plus some way to visualize that, create pull requests across instances and see diffs across instances.
