Ready here - https://github.com/apache/datafusion/pull/17020, I think I didn't mess up the conflict resolution too much, I'll probably do another pass to make sure. I don't fully grok this PR either, but I'll spend some time reading through it and generally happy to try and get it over the line if there's interest, seems like cool work and I think at least at some point I thought it would improve some issue I was looking into which is probably the reason I'm following it. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
