This post is great, I find the content easy to follow. I have a suggestion for the first paragraph though: perhaps we should emphasize the motivation more clearly at the beginning. I think @alamb 's point in the YouTube video is particularly compelling — we don’t need to invent a new file format to support additional indexing.
