> * Support file row index / row id for each file in a `ListingTableProvider` #15892 I think the current idea is that we are looking for someone in the community to create an TableProvider using the DataFusion APIs that adds more of these metadata columns., See https://github.com/apache/datafusion/issues/15173 The current ListingTableProvider in DataFUsion is already pretty complicated and we need to balance adding more functionality to the core vs the ongoing maintenance costs.
