Note to @alamb -- exposing the rewriter api ([as suggested here](https://github.com/apache/datafusion/blob/b8b76bc225a9b0c51407261cc7b55770db1a958b/datafusion/optimizer/src/analyzer/type_coercion.rs#L179)), enables the union type-coercion with less of the schema shenangians and overhead (vs the full analyzer).
