advice2020 created an issue (geany/geany#4564) I did not come up with this idea, this is a pretty common feature used in many applications such as web browsers, pdf viewers, etc.
Suggesting to add bold horizontal colored lines into the vertical scroll bar to show indicators of where keyword search items are located in the current document. The current instance of that keyword that is highlighted in the document, gets a different color horizontal bold line to indicate to the user where it is in the document. Other user mentioned that this could also be used to show user errors/marked items in general throughout a document. Also this would be added as a setting that users can turn off if they did not want to see these indicators. I think this could be very useful if it is possible to be added, hopefully others agree.
