adventuretc created an issue (geany/geany#4553) I mean this as an improvement. Pressing the backspace or delete key shouldn't reset the preferred caret position. So for example when deleting the last character of a bunch of lines one after another Geany now forgets where my caret was and if the lines aren't the same length I have to move back to the end of the line, whereas if I just move up or down with the caret it remembers (remembers the caret position).
