The specific operating system applications contain the installations that system provides. OSes are different and may organise their installation packages different for each OS, or an OS may approach uses a copy of some other OS, for example (if I am right) Linux Mint copies the Debian install package and whatever organisation it creates. Since their are many different organisations for OSes the Geary project does not have the ability to support OSes packages, their are simply too many.
