b4n left a comment (geany/geany#4263) This is a job for an external tool or a plugin. It's probably easy to configure a build command that executes something like pylint, cppcheck or so and parses error messages which can thus highlight the locations (see the documentation for build settings). And maybe the LSP plugin already can do this live, dunno.
