If you say so... the symptoms and cause of that Scintilla issue were not what I was experiencing, as you can see from the image attached. The line was actually quite small, and the entire file under 1MB, and no CPU pegging at all. I just loaded SCiTE in order to test your hypothesis, and could not get the same issue to occur. SCiTE Version 4.3.2 compiled for GTK 3.24.17.
