I realize what I wrote was prone to be misunderstood.  What I
meant about "single -k defaulting to -ko" was this:

    cvsimport without -k<any> => cvs default
    cvsimport -k == cvsimport -ko => use cvs -ko
    cvsimoprt -kv => use cvs -kv
