Then I realised I was trying it with the ToolBox as the active window. Once I figured this out, and had the main window active, Tab hides the toolbox, of course. Still the promised functionality in 2.8 will be welcome. When you minimise an application, you expect any tool dialogs and such to minimise (or auto-hide) at the same time. You certainly don't expect that closing a tool dialog will close your application!
