1)That is a error in the tutorial Decompose is not a image mode
Is in Colors/Components/decompose...(there is also REcompose you will need it
after )
2) this do not seems a question for the developer list will be better ask to
the gimp user list or to some gimp forum as

I followed the tutorial here
http://www.gimpguru.org/Tutorials/SmartSharpening/
and stopped at the "Right-click on the duplicate image and select
Image/Mode/Decompose.".
There is no "Decompose" here.
What now ?
I'm on Win32, GIMP 2.4.5.
