At the moment there are three kind of module interfaces that can be implemented: http://developer.gimp.org/api/2.0/libgimpwidgets/GimpColorSelector.html http://developer.gimp.org/api/2.0/libgimpwidgets/GimpColorDisplay.html and GimpController, a modular interface to input events. The API docs for this new type of modules is not yet online.
