if it is not reported already - search for other bugs wich might be 
related first.

I see the same behavior with my wacom tablet. Likewise I can't find any error 
footprint - nothing seems to complain. I've gone to mostly using the eraser - 
it seems to work reliably. I'm using Gimp2.0pre3 BTW.
