Building gimp on slackware-current, I get the following failure: gimptext-vectors.c: In function `gimp_text_render_vectors': gimptext-vectors.c:265: `FT_GLYPH_FORMAT_OUTLINE' undeclared (first use in this function) gimptext-vectors.c:265: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once gimptext-vectors.c:265: for each function it appears in.) make[3]: *** [gimptext-vectors.o] Error 1 gimp-1.3.16 built OK, though. Has anybody seen this problem? What did you do to solve it? Thanks.
Note: I'm guessing this is a freetype version issue. I have downloaded freetype 2.1.4, but I'm concerned I might hose my X fonts if I install it. XFree86-4.3.0 in slackware has freetype-2 built in.
If this is the problem, then I will have to upgrade freetype and possibly rebuild X, but I don't want to do this unless it's indicated.

I think XFree86-4.3.0 comes with freetype 2.1.3, but I'm not sure.
