IMHO we should cosider rewriting LibGGI2D and find a maintainer for it that
will try to get it up to speed with respect to acceleration.

This isn't a very complex job, but a time consuming one. When it comes to 
algorithms, kernel interfaces and similar matters I am sure there are enough
people her on the list like me, Marcus, Jon, etc. pp. that will gladly help.

So anyone here to do that ?

That is another issue, and I do have code for "LibGBL" (generic blitting)
that handles this. I am looking forward to discussing this with Marcus when
we prepare a new LibGGI release, so that we can then quickly proceed after-
wards and add HW acceleration to it.

Hmm - probably the current version won't be much different. Maybe the 
DirectBuffer Acquire stuff.

Hmm - the only ones I can recommend from experience are the Permedia 2 (which
will need some work on my side to get good acceleration in the 3D Area) and
the G400.
