Hi folks !
Here in Germany, we recently had a sponsored game hit the productivity of
windows users quite hard. It was called "Moorhuhn" (swamp chicken - don't
know the correct name for it) and the objective is to shoot down
innocent-looking chicken that fly around on the screen.
Well ... as several people asked me, if nothing comparable was available for
Linux and considering that "flying" logo of some well known OS, I thought
it would be funny to rather create "MoorWin".
I now have it in a state that at least is good enough for a few screenshots
- I have attached a small one (original resolution is 640x480, but I didn't
feel like flooding the ML with it).
And if you look at it, you'll probably see why I am posting: I am by far no
artist, and it would be very nice, if someone could make a better "scene".
The logos are pretty much o.k. I think, but the background is simply ugly.
So if someone thinks he can make a nice set of 4 layers that make up the
image (the layers scroll independently and are 1280x480 to 3200x480 in
size), please contact me.
The game currently uses some alpha level lib I was testing for blitting, so I
won't make sources available yet. I will remove the dependency on that lib
anyway, as I create the images in-memory and need a special blitting
method for the background anyway, so there isn't much sense in using the lib.
Other comments (like suggestions for the "don't shoot me" objects - balloons
and a plane in the original - penguins don't fly too well ... - hmm maybe
I'll use the FreeBSD mascot, that would use his fork on any logo that
crosses its way ...) are welcome as well.
