Hello all,

Just in case you haven't been following what is happening in Madrid right
now, things have gotten to the point where there is now a twitter account
@iscop25over: https://twitter.com/iscop25over

Things have definitely devolved in such a way that it evokes Copenhagen
2009, though arguably the stakes are even higher now. With (what appears to
be) such a massive failure ahead of next year's COP26 in Glasgow, I don't
think it is too much of a stretch to consider that the entire climate
architecture is facing more jeopardy than since the run-up to Paris. And
with the repression/protests in Chile triggering the relocation of the
summit to Madrid, coupled with the pulverizing victory of
pro-austerity/anti-environmental forces in the UK elections, as educators,
I think it is incumbent upon us to be able to make these systematic
connections among the intertwining social-political-ecological crises the
world over and the implications they have for this next, critical decade of
climate change politics.

To that end, I'd like to welcome a thread to share readings and resources
that you have found useful or essential for understanding what is going on
right now in climate politics. Please feel free to share your own
thoughts/observations as well. If you respond to me off list I can
edit/compile these in message to keep things a bit more tidy.
