The Department of Political Science at Colorado State University invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of
Environmental Politics and Policy, with an emphasis on air quality, climate
and/or health. We are open with respect to disciplinary sub-field,
interdisciplinary emphasis, theoretical orientation and methodological
approaches.

This position is part of an interdisciplinary University-wide cluster hire
under the CSU Partnership for Air Quality, Climate, and Health (PACH)
(https://vprnet.research.colostate.edu/pach/). The successful candidate will
collaborate with faculty from the department and across the University and
contribute to PACH through teaching, research and/or service activities.

The successful candidate will teach courses in the Department's Environmental
Politics & Policy curriculum at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Additional teaching assignments will depend on the candidate's interests and
expertise but will be based in the Political Science Department. The normal
teaching load is 2-2. Faculty members advise and mentor graduate and
undergraduate students, develop an active research agenda, and provide service
to the department, college, university, and community.

Required Qualifications: Primary teaching and scholarly emphasis in
environmental politics and policy; doctoral degree in Political Science, Public
Policy, or closely related field conferred by the time of appointment
(interdisciplinary degrees with substantial coursework related to environmental
politics and policy may meet this requirement); evidence of an active research
agenda in environmental politics and policy pertaining to air quality, climate,
and/or health; and evidence of teaching effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to enhance the Department's commitment to
diversity and inclusion reflecting Departmental and institutional values;
experience working in an interdisciplinary environment; experience with
externally funded research; experience working with or for the public or
non-profit sectors.

To apply: submit 1) a letter of application outlining teaching interests and
research agenda; 2) a curriculum vitae; 3) a statement of how teaching and
research interests align with the Department's teaching and scholarship as well
as PACH in the areas of air quality, climate and/or health (identify teaching
interests including existing courses
(http://catalog.colostate.edu/general-catalog/courses-az/pols/) and a new
course); 4) graduate school transcripts (unofficial transcripts acceptable at
the initial stage of the search); 5) evidence of demonstrated or potential
teaching effectiveness (syllabi, teaching evaluations, letters of observation);
6) one sample of published or presented work; and 7) the names of three
professional referees (the department will be asking for three letters of
recommendation upon submission of application) to
http://jobs.colostate.edu/postings/36826. Applications will be accepted until
the position is filled; to ensure full consideration, applications should be
received by October 3, 2016. Questions about the position can be directed to
