One last time (I hope)!

Let's direct these useful comments to Miranda only, who will compile them and
report back to the list.

Canada has a significant number of PhD programs in environmental sciences and
management, including ours.

Cheers.

Mexico does have PhD programmes in environment.

Hi all

The reports that Michael and Wil refer to focus only on the US as far as I can
tell. Miranda can you confirm if you were interested in a more global approach
and reach. If the latter, then I can call on colleagues in this part of the
world for more information. If the former (ie the US only), then I won't
bother.

Cheers

Miranda and Wil,

I echo Wil: Lots of very systematic work already done on this, Miranda. No
need to recreate the wheel.

Here’s a summary of the report that Wil
mentions:<http://ncseonline.org/sites/default/files/NCSE%202013%20Curriculum%20Design%20Summary%20Report.pdf>http://ncseonline.org/sites/default/files/NCSE%202013%20Curriculum%20Design%20Summary%20Report.pdf
The longer report, which is quite strong, can be purchased from NCSE.

And here’s a recent, somewhat curmudgeonly (?) assessment of EStudies by yours
truly that draws on much the same literature:

Dear Miranda,

The NCSE commissioned Shirley Vincent et al. to conduct a comprehensive survey
of, inter alia, interdisciplinary environmental and sustainability programs in
the United States. This culminated in three excellent reports in 2012. wil

Dear all,

I am trying to gather some information about universities and how they go about
teaching environment. Can you please let me know if:

1.) you offer a Bachelor's degree program or environment, and if so what does
it look like (inter-disciplinary, cross-social and natural sciences, etc.)
2.) what kind of MA programs you offer in environment
3.) are there special programs for PhD students in environment

I imagine this information will be of help to many, so I'll do my best to
gather it so we can post it.

Thanks, MIranda
