Dear Gep-ed and AESS (apologies for cross-posting):

I’m pleased to announce that the first in a five-webinar series on
international environmental security issues, hosted by the Security &
Sustainability Forum and the Elliott School of International Affairs, will take
place October 8, from 1:15 to 2:15 eastern time.

I will be moderating a series of webinars on various issues that we might face
in a globally-warmed world, and how they could affect international security.
I will set up a hypothetical scenario, and a panel of experts will weigh in on
what some of the ramifications are for our military, environmental, economic,
and political well-being. The situation will change as the scenarios unfold,
and the panelists must respond to changing conditions without knowing in
advance what they are! At the end, we will have time for Q&A from registered
listeners.

Future webinars will address topics of food security, public health, water
security, and geo-engineering. All following webinars will take place on the
first Tuesday of each month.

If you are interested in climate change, international security, or want your
students to hear about the fascinating career options open to them after
graduation (!), please register at securityandsustainabilityforum.org - it’s
free, and all webinars will be archived for later access. I hope to have you
all tune in - I’m excited to bring environmental security to a new audience!

Best regards,

Beth
