Thank you for the kudos for ENB! Much appreciated Steffen. Ken, our analysis of the meeting will be out by Sunday night, which should help. We will also have a separate analysis of the Rio Conventions Pavilion's activities.
To see everything we have been covering (main process, side events, Rio Conventions Pavilion, Sustainable Development Dialogue Days, Business Day, Energy Day, and the UNEP World Congress on Justice, Governance and Law for Environmental Sustainability, see www.iisd.ca/uncsd/rio20<http://www.iisd.ca/uncsd/rio20> or get our app. Either scan the code below with a QR scanner on your phone or go to http://enb.iisd.mobi/. The app is available for both iphone and android. [cid:[email protected]] If anyone is interested in a summary of press articles, I can send it out to the list. If anyone wants my read on things, let me know... or wait for the ENB analysis. Thanks for your initiative, Ken, but as you say: We'll see how it goes over the next few days... I'd rather wait until the circus is over. Alas, for the time being my hunch is that it will be rather difficult to find the glass half-full this time around... By the way: Hats off - yet again - to the ENB team! Following closely would be so much harder without their tremendous effort... For those not following closely, but interested, here is a link to the "text for agreement" that Brazil has brokered as the host delegation: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2012/jun/19/rio-20-future-we-want-draft-text Brazil and many others are anxious to see it not be reopened for negotiation; we'll see how that goes over the next few days. If folks on the list would like to write a paragraph (max) summarizing their thoughts about what is happening, isn't happening, should happen, can't happen, etc., send it to me <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> and I'd be happy to string them together and circulate to the list. Include your name and institutional affiliation. Feel free to respond now, or in the coming days, or to wait until the circus is over. I am just curious as to the range of views that are out there in our intellectual community....Ken Conca
