If you haven't heard about AESS, the Association of Environmental Studies
and Sciences (www.aess.info), we have a lot to offer. AESS is a vibrant and
growing interdisciplinary professional society that seeks to strengthen
teaching, research, and service in environmental studies and sciences (ESS)
and to improve communication across boundaries that too often divide the
traditional academic disciplines. As research and teaching continue to
transcend boundaries, AESS is providing the kind of community that supports
and welcomes ideas and new collaborations. The Association works to support
the professional development of members not just as individuals but also to
advance Environmental Studies and Sciences as a whole. The flagship journal
of AESS-the Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences (Springer)--and
the annual conferences provide important forums for creative ESS scholarship
(http://www.aess.info/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=939971&module_id=11175
6). If you are not yet a member of AESS, please consider joining and
submitting a paper at the upcoming conference, which will take place in June
at Santa Clara University in sunny California.
