Betsill, Michele M., Philipp Pattberg, and Eleni Dellas (editors). 2011. Agency
in Earth System Governance. International Environmental Agreements: Politics,
Law and Economics, 11 (1).

This special issue addresses the analytical problem of agency in earth system
governance, an analytical problem that begins with the assumption that the
credibility, stability, adaptiveness, and inclusiveness of earth system
governance is affected by a wide range of actors. The articles engage with
questions of agency in earth system governance from several different
theoretical perspectives, complemented by unique empirical cases and/or
methodological approaches. Along the way, the authors confront some of the
conceptual challenges associated with the study of agency and advance our
understanding of this important governance challenge.

Biermann, Frank, and Ruben Zondervan (editors). 2010. Earth System Governance.
International Environmental Agreements: Politics, Law and Economics, 10 (4).

The science agenda of the Earth System Governance Project stands at the centre
of a special issue of International Environmental Agreements: Politics, Law and
Economics that is published recently. The first article of this special issue
introduces the scientific agenda and other articles present new cutting-edge
research that builds on this ambitious science plan. Most contributions have
been spearheaded by members of the scientific steering committee of the
Project, along with several colleagues who have joined the Project after its
launch.

Corbera, Esteve, Heike Schroeder, and Oliver Springate-Baginski (editors).
2011. Governing and implementing REDD+. Environmental Science & Policy, 14 (2).

Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, conserving and
enhancing forest carbon stocks, and sustainably managing forests (REDD+) are
emerging as a central policy instrument to halt land-use related emissions from
developing countries. This special issue is dedicated to understanding the
governance and implementation dimensions of REDD+ at international, national
and local levels by using the earth system governance framework.
