GEP-ED members and friends: Some news about the new International Environmental Communication Association (IECA) initiative (apologies for cross-posting):

1. In our first three days of operation, we have secured over 25 individual memberships from the U. S. and several other countries.

2. We have secured our first organizational membership: from the Center for Western Cross Timbers Studies, a non-profit environmental education and conservation organization based in Texas (http://www.cwcts.org/). Thanks for your support! We invite other organizations to get involved as well. For more information, go to http://environmentalcomm.org and click on "click here to become a founding member."

3. Three individuals have self-nominated to run for initial Board of Directors positions. Biographical information about candidates will be posted on our web site (http://environmentalcomm.org) under "elections" in the near future.

4. We have just created the opportunity for students to become founding members at a discounted rate of $60. For more information, go to http://environmentalcomm.org and click on "click here to become a founding member."

Stay tuned to this list-serv for future developments!
