Dear STEP Members,

Time to get those submissions in for the 2011 STEP prizes in research. This
year's deadline for submissions is MARCH 1.

As per usual, we offer three prizes:

1) Lynton Caldwell Prize Best Book in Environmental Politics published in the
past 3 years.
2) Don K. Price Award for Best Book in Science and Technology Politics
published in the past 3 years.
3) Virginia M. Walsh Award for Best Dissertation in Science, Technology, and/or
Environmental Politics completed in the past 2 years.

-Nominations should be sent to one/all of the members for the relevant prize
committee (listed below).
*For books: authors or nominators should ensure that a copy of their book
arrives with each committee member.
*For PhD dissertations: e-copies sent by email (in .pdf, .doc, or .docx
format) are preferred (unless otherwise instructed by a particular committee
member).
-Self-nominations are allowed.
-Although no formal guidelines exist, it is my observation that works are
generally judged on the following criteria
*the degree to which they investigate the *politics* of ST or E
*the level of scientific rigor used in the investigation
*the scope and impact of the research
