I (and many others I guess) much appreciate the effort!

When you have a first draft, just commit it to the branch and I'll
make sure that it addresses the need of OSGi. It doesn't have to be
soon.

There is no hurry on our side, a monolithic GeoTools bundle does the job.
(by the way I recently uploaded a 2.6.6 version:

and I plan to come back to 2.7 pretty soon)
