This method has been deprecated since the dawn of time; and is only called as a
try/catch "fallback plan" in case createFeatureWriter(typeName,transaction) is
not implemented.
The createFeatureWriter method was created in order to allow writers to issue
the correct events as modifications were made.
The only class that had not been updated was the tutorial class
PropertyDataStore.
Finally removing this method allows me to clean up some messy workarounds in
TransactionStateDiff.
