There is a bug [1] in JAI medialib which may produces wrong results when using
the MosaicOp on gray images.
It would be good to allow the ImageMosaic plugin to use a specific JAI instance
with custom settings (as an instance, with native acceleration disabled on
mosaicking) through Hints.
