I do not think that demo was completed; there is some work on a
generic datastore property widget in demo (see the PostGIS lab for an
example use); and also some work on a wizard api (in order to demo WPS
work).

The two have not been brought together yet. If the functionality of
the export wizard is of interest to you perhaps you would like to
volunteer to bring it back?
