This article http://javatech.org/?p=17 tells that C3P0, while slower than DBCP
under normal load, might produce way less synchornization under high load.
Contention over DBCP connection access was indeed observed during the profiles
I made for FOSS4G 2008, so this is worth exploring to see if it helps
scalability.
