These days I have fixed a bug which was resulting into generating some white regions on some areas. https://osgeo-org.atlassian.net/browse/GEOT-6361 However: - that was resulting into throwing an IllegalArgumentException at some point. - that was not related to Heterogeneous mosaics (but it was combining multiple images anyway). So I don't think it's the very same issue you are encountering right now but you may want to give a try to the latest 2.15 nightly build, which should be available in a few hours (I see it is in the jenkins build queue right now). If not, could you please check if a similar problem has been already reported on JIRA and, if not, open a new ticket with sample data and steps to replicate?
