Sorry, I forgot to keep the discussion on the list!
Anyway, when you ask for a tiled request without applying a style, each
tile is rendered independently with the default raster style and the
applied colormap depends on the maximum and minimum values of each tile.
You reported an issue related to an unsupported data type, so which is the
data type of your images?
