For all its complexity, WFS 2 fixes many things. In particular: (1) The last-minute separation of WFS 2 from any schema-dependency on a particular GML (i.e. 3.2) was inspired. (No pun intended.)
(2) Anyone consuming WFS responses in JavaScript will love paging. Even though a lot can be done with WFS 1.1 outputFormat=gml32 (currently working with simple features and app-schema), WFS 2 has a lot going for it. Kind regards, Ben.
