Try: emerge -1 $(qlist -I x11-drivers) And it's usually quicker to type with backticks instead of $(): emerge -1 `qlist -IC x11-drivers`Note: not single-quotes ('), but backticks (`). It's usually the key above TAB and to the left of 1.
