If you don't use man pages, you may not need to even run it at all.  It
has a daily cron job here that I assume portage put there.  I don't
recall putting it there at least.  I think it would be nice for it to
check this after emerging something that updates a man page myself. 
Maybe some extra option in make.conf or something.  Oooops, watch it
already be a option that I don't know about.  LOL

You run locate every hour?  You must really add files a lot.  :-o
