Looks like the cpan and sitfiles mirrors you are using are out of sync. My cpan mirror lags the master by about 24 hours and it isn't there yet. But distfiles has it :-) You're very welcome to grab a copy from me ftp://ftp.is.co.za/mirror/gentoo.org/distfiles/Sys-Syslog-0.18.tar.gz copy it to your local distfiles directory and run the emerge again -- alan dot mckinnon at gmail dot com
