well, that would be indeed a very good idea; however, i don't start gnome from a terminal but from gdm and i don't know where to look for error messages in this case... maybe i can see if the problem can be reproduced by using "startx" and maybe i get some error messages there... -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
