Tried all that you suggested, nothing worked. What concerns me is that alsamixer nevers shows a volume control on Master anymore, and amixer says: Simple mixer control 'Master',0 Capabilities: pswitch pswitch-joined *<--- no volume/pvolume* Playback channels: Mono Mono: Playback [on] Also in alsamixer the IEC958 controls show no volume bar.
