As it seems, non of my Gentoos can burn CDs anymore. On my laptop I try to use Graveman. As soon as I start the burning process the CPU usage reaches 100% with 80% cdrecord and 20% Graveman while the drive does not even spin up and the percentage indicator stays at 0%.
On my desktop I tried K3B which didn't perform any better. The only thing that happens is that it consumes more and more memory. When aborting K3B tells me that it can't unlock the drive. Permissions seem okay, revdep-rebuild doesn't find anything. I didn't test DVDs. Here's K3B's "output for analysis": System ----------------------- K3b Version: 0.12.17 KDE Version: 3.5.7 QT Version: 3.3.8 Kernel: 2.6.21-gentoo-r4 Devices ----------------------- TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S183L SB01 (/dev/sr0, /dev/sg2) at /media/dvd [CD-R; CD-RW; CD-Rom; DVD-Rom; DVD-Ram; DVD-R; DVD-RW; [...] Used versions ----------------------- cdrecord: 2.1.1a03 cdrecord ----------------------- scsidev: '2,0,0' scsibus: 2 target: 0 lun: 0 WARNING: the deprecated pseudo SCSI syntax found as device specification.
