Why not to use mknod?

mknod b /dev/loop0 7 0
mknod b /dev/loop1 7 1
mknod b /dev/loop2 7 2
...
chgrp disk /dev/loop*

Hi all,

I seem to be missing my loop devices in /dev...
And I don't find any docs on the current method to do this. I imagine
it's done with udev rules - anyone have working rules for this that
they'd be willing to share?
