It is apparently not related to smb protocol. The printer in question on my end does not have its own IP address but is connected via USB to a windows xp machine. Must therefore be accessed via smb and samba. Did you recognize something in the log output I posted that looked similar to something you've seen? -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
