Make sure to build scsi disk support into your kernel (=y, not =m). Grub setup should be fairly easy, just make a device.map that has: (hd0) /dev/sda and follow the normal grub setup instructions. If you need help here, just ask. The other thing I would suggest for your kernel is build USB and IEEE1394 support as modules. This will prevent any USB/firewire hard drives from confusing the sdX sequencing of the kernel and udev, at least for your SATA drives. -Richard -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
