Did you do "eject /dev/hdc between dd and hdparm? dd if=/dev/hdc of=backup.iso eject dev/hdc hdparm /dev/hdc Yes, I've tried this combination on two different machines with two different drives and DMA gests rest on both. amd64 + BenQ DVD x86 + Plexwriter I'm using kernel 2.6-15 -- #Joseph -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
